Dr Hariharan Kuhan

MBBS BSc
Co-Founder and Medical Director

Dr Hari co-founded Lucio Health to deliver more personalised, data-informed care across cancer and metabolic health. His clinical background spans mainstream oncology, early-phase trials, and academic research, with a particular interest in metabolic health medicine.

Hari studied medicine at Imperial College London, graduating with a BSc in Surgery and Anaesthesia. He completed his early training in Central London at leading teaching hospitals before specialising in medical oncology at recognised centres of excellence.

During a research fellowship at Barts Cancer Institute, he investigated metabolic pathways in cancer stem cells and circulating tumour cells, progressing this work into translational phase I trials. He later served as a clinical fellow in an early-phase trials unit on Harley Street, acting as lead sub-investigator on multiple solid tumour studies.

Hari remains active in clinical research and drug development. His expertise in oncology, metabolic targeting, repurposed medicines, and genomic profiling gives him a unique perspective on the future of personalised treatment. He is particularly interested in translating scientific advances into accessible, practical care that supports patients.

Raphael Swery

Co-Founder and CEO

Raphael co-founded Lucio Health with Dr Hari to create a more thoughtful, personalised approach to care. His decision to move into the healthcare sector in 2015 was shaped by a pivotal experience in his own life -- unexpected change to his own health and wellbeing sparked a desire to support others facing complex health challenges.

With two decades of experience in business development and team leadership, he has worked across healthcare, professional services, and executive search. Since entering the healthcare sector, he has helped design and grow clinical services, lead teams through international expansion, and shape patient pathways that are both evidence-based and human-centred.

He is particularly interested in how clinical services can be made more accessible, compassionate, and responsive to the needs of individuals and their families.

Raphael holds a degree in Politics and International Studies from the University of Warwick.
